System Validation Engineer

Position: System Validation Engineer

Description of duties

Responsible for mechanical system validation for our electric vehicle. Specifically, the detailed job duties include:

1. Conduct electric vehicle performance modeling and simulation, from battery management system, vehicle control system to motor control system.
2. Develop and validate various vehicle control systems on real-time simulation platform (HIL system), from thermal control, battery control, vehicle dynamics control, traction control to electronic stability control.
3. Develop and implement automated tests on complex control systems and vehicle simulation model; Build tooling to allow post-processing and visualization of test data and support vehicle level validation test plan development and execution.
4. Develop and test vehicle level diagnostic and fault-triggering function, including UDS (Universal Diagnostic System) and fault handling features.
5. Plan, and analyze results from, experiments and simulations identifying key dynamic characteristics of e-powertrains and control systems.
6. Improve and develop new automation infrastructure to emulate user/external inputs and evaluate vehicle behaviors.
7. Work with cross-functional teams to define and develop vehicle-wide functions, test and integrate different vehicle components.
8. Support the development, bring-up, design validation and troubleshooting of subsystem components and ECUs.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related plus 6 months’ experience as a System Validation Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Quality Engineer, Simulation Engineer, Test Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or related.
