FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION

 

OVERVIEW

Terramera is actively seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and passionate Communications Generalist to join our Strategic Communications Team. At Terramera, we are working on ambitious projects to quantify soil health, sequester carbon in soil, promote regenerative agriculture, and transform how food is grown, globally.

YOUR MISSION

Support the planning and execution of internal and external corporate communication activities to ensure that relevant stakeholders are consistently informed of ongoing developments.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reporting to the VP, Stakeholder Relations, the Communications Generalist will work closely with other members of the Strategic Communications Team as well as various stakeholders across the Company.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Draft corporate communications materials, including press releases, blog posts and other collateral for external purposes; 
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing & Communications Manager on all online communications and content;
  • Manage all Terramera social media accounts on a day-to-day basis including community engagement via LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube;
  • Contribute to the social media strategy by creating compelling content to increase community engagement online, including video, animation and infographics; 
  • Collaborate with team members in both Intelligent Agriculture & Green Chemistry Solutions business units to support external communications, sales, and go to market campaigns;
  • Support all events and communications related to external stakeholder relations including board and annual general meetings, investor newsletters, quarterly updates, and facility tours;
  • Contribute to the development, proofreading and editing of presentation and other materials for Executive Team;
  • Contribute to employee engagement strategy by preparing and communicating internal news and updates to employees;
  • Work with Talent and Culture team to support employer branding strategy and corporate social responsibility initiatives;
  • Monitor media requests and liaise with media for interviews, statements, etc. in collaboration with the VP, Stakeholder Relations; 
  • Work together with the graphic designer to create visuals for corporate events and initiatives;
  • Uphold Terramera’s brand guidelines and digital voice and tone guidelines; and,
  • Perform other related duties in keeping with the purpose and accountabilities of the job.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or relevant field
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in communications at a technology or consumer goods company
  • Experience in communication planning and execution
  • Experience in copywriting, proofreading and editing (i.e. blogs, articles, newsletters)
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro (can use Canva and Biteable as required)
  • Experience with social media management platforms and tools such as Meltwater
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Working knowledge of MS Office

ASSETS

  • Experience with photo and video-editing software
  • Experience in content production
