Job Description

Form Energy is a U.S. technology and manufacturing company that is developing and commercializing cost-effective multi-day energy storage systems to enable the global electricity system to run on 100% low-cost renewable energy, every day of the year. Driven by Form’s core values of humanity, excellence, and creativity, our team is deeply motivated and inspired to create a better world. We seek to transform the energy landscape and do our part in making the world better for all. We are supported by leading investors who share a common belief that low-cost, multi-day energy storage will be a key enabler of tomorrow’s zero carbon electric system.
Role DescriptionWe’re looking for a Manufacturing Systems Engineer that is motivated to amplify their impact and help build a new manufacturing organization. This person will take the lead in building out workstation applications and other elements of our Manufacturing Execution System using the Tulip low-code app-building platform. Work will focus on app-building and back-end programming with Tulip’s user-friendly system to support Form Energy’s manufacturing operations. Reporting into the Sr. Manager of Assembly Advanced Manufacturing, this position will require close collaboration with manufacturing engineers, technicians on the manufacturing line, the software team, and a number of other teams to build and iterate solutions for daily use on our production lines and elsewhere to keep builds running smoothly. We hope you join us in making giant batteries to tackle climate change!

What You'll Do:

  • Own the development, deployment, and iteration of manufacturing applications built with the Tulip platform with a focus on SOP/traceability apps. This will include designing user interfaces, building backend logic, performing app testing, and overseeing deployment of apps to the line including training of technicians.
  • Perform needfinding in the manufacturing environment to determine what new applications or changes to applications to prioritize
  • Build the manufacturing data system in the Tulip Tables environment
  • Work with the Form Software team to support integration requirements and ensure data quality standards including clean hand-off of manufacturing data from Tulip to Form’s broader data warehouse and hand-off of data into Tulip from external sources
  • Work with a diversity of teams to achieve overall manufacturing success
  • Maintain the deployed Tulip apps as they are changed or modified based on Engineering Change Orders, productivity / line upgrades, equipment changes, etc
  • Deploy and maintain apps across numerous production sites

What You'll Bring:

  • Affinity for app development or other software work and general computer experience
  • 3+ Years experience working with technicians and engineers in a manufacturing environment, ideally with electro-mechanical assembly
  • Programming/coding experience is not required but is a plus; Tulip is a low-code development environment and can be learned quickly given general computer experience
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills and readiness to interact with a wide range of other professionals
  • Engineering or computer science degree or certificate is a plus but not required
  • Position and level of responsibility can scale with relevant experience
