About the Role:
Planet is currently seeking a Material Program Manager to join our team in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for looking holistically at Planet’s supply chain and developing processes to quickly understand where there is supply risk, in addition to making accurate assessments about lead-time buys, expected spend. You will be able to create excel files, decks and other G-Suite tools and analytics to help the Planet Procurement organization make the most precise decisions around expenditures.
You will manage the CTB ("clear to build") process with suppliers and internal stakeholders ensuring that we have an efficient process and clear visibility on our procurement strategy,, highlighting projected coverage and constraints. CTB projections govern what the Procurement Team can commit to our C-level executives. You will also be instrumental in Identifying E & O and other material risk and own the efforts to mitigate liability to the business.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Ability to problem-solve and influence others through data analysis.
- Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills; "Advanced User" of MS Excel with deep understanding of Excel techniques. VBA, SQL, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools are a plus.
- Professional experience with complex supply chain experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to management required.
- Execute programs to optimize schedule flexibility while minimizing excess & obsolete inventory exposure (E&O reduction).
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality and Operations to create a common schedule based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Meet production schedules, inventory control requirements, and ongoing material line support.
What You Bring:
- Min of 3 years of experience in production environment building forecasting and delivery tools for a complex organization.
- Excellent teamwork skills and proven aptitude to partner effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (i.e., colleagues, suppliers, and internal/external customers)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional groups and projects
- The ability to flourish and produce within a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment with changing priorities
- Ability to work independently, prioritize and multi-task while maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude
