The Security Operations Manager leads resources and staff to provide clear direction, leadership, and motivation and is accountable for planning, organizing, implementing, and managing the development of an effective process to assess and manage security risk, and loss prevention programs to protect employees, customers, proprietary information, brand image, and physical and intangible assets, and maintains positive relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement.
The Security Operations Manager will staff the security monitoring center as well as assist with the planning, installation, and maintenance of security systems and their related capital and budgets across the corporation.
Responsibilities
Lead, planning and execution of security at key personnel offices, field locations, and personal properties.
Key liaison with company personnel on various confidential security protective details, initiatives, and investigations.
Act as manager of contact with federal, state, and local law enforcement on security planning and response activities.
Collect and analyze security data to determine security needs, security program goals, and program accomplishments.
Provides oversight for security monitoring center activities such as; training/certification programs, procedure development & implementation, operational activities, shift staffing, maintenance/inspection programs associated with security systems.Prepare corporate and project-specific security plans and associated documents; develop and deliver proposals, progress reports, and required documentation and presentations to/for internal and external stakeholders.
Develop a tiered project security program, based on real or perceived corporate vulnerability.
Conduct project-specific security vulnerability assessments. Assess accurately physical and logistical physical security implementations and make risk management-based recommendations that consider the impact on business operations, system architectures, work processes, company culture, and employee workflows.
Plan and execute rollouts of security strategies and field security deployments by reviewing plans, and projects, and working with internal business partners, third-party system integrators, security officer providers, and law enforcement in a timely and clear fashion.
Plan and schedule project timelines; direct project security, defining scope, goals and deadlines, project plans, and associated documents.
Requirements:
Must have a High School diploma at a minimum or hold a degree in a security-related field or in the process to obtain (enrolled in current programs), criminal justice or business administration or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ experience as a security professional or related police-military service occupation or equivalent private-sector leadership experience.
Extensive knowledge of relevant practices, laws, and regulations that govern the protection of physical assets.
Strong computer skills in applying different programs for Security operations or standard in-office projects.
Excellent written & oral communication skills are a must.
Demonstrated analytical problem solving and leadership skills.
Must be team-oriented, including as well as the ability to work independently and in a matrix organization.
Resilient personality and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Creative self-starter who possesses excellent project management skills, and who has a strong sense of focus, organization, meticulous attention to detail, and proven ability to guide others to deliver outstanding results in a timely manner.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a data-driven analytical approach towards solving complex challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidate will have a BSIS Guard card to work with security or do special request details to assist with overall security response and actions made at specified locations.
Close protection or executive protection experience.
EMT/Advanced First Aid/CPR certified.
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Usually, normal office working conditions.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
