BeZero Carbon is a global ratings agency for the Voluntary Carbon Market. Our ratings allow all market participants to price and manage risk. BeZero’s ratings and research tools support buyers, intermediaries, investors, and carbon project developers.

Founded in April 2020, our 100-strong team combines climatic and earth sciences, sell-side financial research, earth observation, machine learning, data and technology, engineering, and public policy expertise. We work from six continents.

Job Description:

BeZero, as a ratings agency for the Voluntary Carbon Market, must maintain a strong policy, procedure, compliance and control environment to safeguard the integrity of our work and our reputation in the market.

This role will be hands-on and instrumental in building our compliance function and ensuring BeZero complies with regulatory and ethical standards applicable to capital markets ratings agencies. We’re looking for someone who is analytical, ethical and comfortable tackling challenging situations in a straightforward, collaborative manner. You’ll have excellent organisational skills and enjoy working in the detail, leveraging colleagues and external resources to deliver results.

Responsibilities:

• Own, review and update company policies
• Work with professional advisors to produce and review policies and other relevant documents
• Define procedures, processes and controls to implement policies
• Design and maintain the control environment
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance
• Investigate, diagnose and resolve issues
• Drive learning and development to support adoption of policies and procedures
• Stay informed about any relevant changes in the market that impact BeZero compliance
• Report performance to senior management
