BeZero Carbon is a global ratings agency for the Voluntary Carbon Market. Our ratings allow all market participants to price and manage risk. BeZero’s ratings and research tools support buyers, intermediaries, investors, and carbon project developers.

Founded in April 2020, our 90-strong team combines climatic and earth sciences, sell-side financial research, earth observation, machine learning, data and technology, engineering, and public policy expertise. We work from six continents.

Job Description:

BeZero is looking for a Business Operations Manager in our Ratings team. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-starter and highly motivated individual to lead our Rating Operations Team and experience the fast-paced nature of a rapidly-growing startup at the cutting edge of climate technology. The role reports to the Head of Ratings.

This role will be pivotal in ensuring execution, integrity, and continuous improvement of our ratings operations.

Our ideal candidate will be able to run a business cadence, deliver projects to tight timeframes, establish sensible processes, and analyse qualitative and quantitative data.

The candidate must be willing to not only get their hands dirty building processes and implementing tools but also be confident managing a team and multiple stakeholders across commercial, marketing, and analytics teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ratings team
  • Own from end-to-end our ratings operations infrastructure
  • Run cross-functional projects to enable the ratings team
  • Track and report relevant KPIs to measure and optimise the performance of the team
  • Ensure data and information flows are translated into meaningful business decisions
  • Drive weekly prioritisation process with commercial team

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years experience in relevant professional setting, preference for tech or consulting background, working on multiple different projects.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure within a fast-growing company
  • Analytical skills - ability to interpret and handle quantitative and qualitative data sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to build trusting relationships and rapport with wide range of personalities at various levels of seniority
  • Continuous process and operations improvement while driving adoption
  • Preferred: experience using Project Management tools (e.g. Monday, Clickup, Asana, AirTable)
  • Preferred: team management experience
  • Preferred: interest in climate and environmental topics more broadly
