Job Description

Earthjustice’s Real Estate and Workplace Strategy (REWS) team is accepting applications for a full- or part-time intern. We are seeking a graduate student to work remotely from the east coast and who shares a passion for justice and a healthy environment.

REWS is responsible for a diverse portfolio, including space planning, real estate, workplace management, security, capital projects, sustainability, travel, and procurement and a focus on building business intelligence across Earthjustice offices. The intern will work on projects with regards to Sustainable Operations and the Future of Work as we look at initiatives, such as indoor air quality, hybrid work designs, real time consumption monitoring and creating sustainable procurement strategies. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Aggregate business intelligence data for real estate and occupancy data.
  • Collect consumption data such as energy, waste and water.
  • Assist in drafting reports on real estate strategies (reviewing grammar, syntax, and concise wording.
  • Assist in designing prototypes (pilots) for the hybrid workplace. 

Qualifications: 

  • Commitment of at least 20 hours a week.
  • Excellent writing, research, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to work collegially with others and independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in environmental protection and environmental justice preferred.

Compensation: 

Internships for graduate students at Earthjustice include a stipend of $470-$890 per week, depending on the hours worked. The stipend will be provided in one lump sum, minus applicable taxes, by check.
