This role will strongly partner with driving a culture supporting Environmental, Health and Safety.Areas of FocusHuman Resources Manager provides an effective employee relations program, responsive to employee and company needs. Responsible for in-plant communication programs and support.Responsibilities<ul><li>Establish an effective working relationship with management and employees to resolve problems and promote efficient work practices</li><li>In union plants, handle first through third steps in grievance procedure.  Assist in fourth step grievances, handling arbitration, and contract negotiations</li><li>Monitor payroll, insurance claims, and unemployment claims to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and procedures</li><li>Administer staffing, promotion and transfer of employees to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and union contract Represent Company at unemployment hearings</li><li>Develop and facilitate appropriate employee training for employee development and safety</li><li>Conduct or coordinate annual Management training in employment/labor law, company policies and practices, including sexual harassment</li><li>Develop an annual Affirmative Action Plan</li><li>Responsible for personnel and benefits records, employee orientation and information update</li><li>Active participation in SHRM or other professional organization</li><li>Maintain staffing levels necessary to support plant operating objectives</li><li>Administrative/clerical personnel, including HR specialists or assistants, payroll clerks and receptionist</li><li>Decisions made or actions taken on own authority</li><li>Staffing recommendations</li><li>Employee problem solving and counseling; benefit administration</li><li>Decisions/actions that require support of associates or higher approval</li><li>Changes to plant or corporate policy and procedures</li><li>New training programs</li><li>Partnering to drive a culture promoting EH&amp;S</li></ul>Basic Qualifications<ul><li>BS degree in related field or equivalent experience</li><li>Eight years direct Human Resources Generalist experience</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, EEO, AAP</li><li>Training, employee relations and labor relations</li><li>Effective communication skills with the ability to relate to all levels of employees</li><li>Experience in Union and Labor Relations</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>SPHR Certification within 2 years of hire date and maintain ongoing certification thereafter</li></ul>if you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
