As Head of Engineering at Cloverly, you will help scale up the team from 5 engineers to many multiples of that over the coming months and years. We are in an extremely fast growing market (Climate Tech), with tough technical problems to solve. We have exceptional customer traction to-date, and enormous opportunity ahead of us. Responsibilities
Scale up a diverse and inclusive team of engineers in a high growth startup, while setting a high bar - technical mentorship, a heart for service, and creating a culture of innovation are key to success here!
Mentor team and help them grow professionally - define and nurture a culture of excellence
Map out process and advocate for the security, quality, and performance of the product
Instill confidence on customer calls re: our technology, security, performance, processes and more
Be a strong partner to Product in driving a roadmap that achieves top business priorities, while balancing speed and quality
While we don’t expect the head of engineering to submit code (although it’s fine if they do) or be the chief architect, we do expect them to understand our stack and engineering processes thoroughly.

You must have:
Experience leading a team of at least 20 engineers across products and across eng disciplines (Front End, Back End, DevOps, QA, etc) in a modern SaaS company
Experience being customer-facing for enterprise customers - you can excite customers about our vision and strength of team
Hands-on, in the weeds experience solving tough technical problems
Modern scaling experience - taking a SaaS product from seed stage through hypergrowth (and the scaling problems that come with that) will be essential to your success
