Profile

cKinetics is looking for those who are passionate about Sustainability and Carbon Markets and looking for meaningful as well as cutting-edge work.

The candidate would be part of the California Carbon team (www.CaliforniaCarbon.info), a division of cKinetics, which provides business intelligence and analytics in carbon markets.

The person would be involved in writing research reports that track carbon markets. She/he would also engage market players, and analyze data-sets in carbon markets.

She/he would travel to India 2-3 times a year where our analysts from all over the globe converge.

Position deliverables

The role envisages the following activities:

• Creating research reports that analyze compliance and voluntary carbon offset markets
• Analyzing trends in carbon markets. Writing frequent (3-4 times a week) short commentaries by synthesizing data
• Interviewing specialists in North America and publishing them on our platform
• Working with our other analysts and economists to identify areas to research
• Participating in our frequent webinars and events, to present your analysis

About you

1. You are self-motivated and looking to be part of a dynamic environment
2. You are great at writing long-form essays: you have a methodical and critical mindset for collecting and analysing data
3. Strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact and collaborate with professionals from varied cultural backgrounds
4. Preferable but not necessary – you have prior work experience in the carbon offsets sector

You must have

• Bachelors or Masters Degree. Preference for majors in Environmental Economics, Climate Finance, Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management, or similar

• 3-5 years of work experience. Experience in low carbon tech, energy markets and/or environmental commodity markets is a big plus
• Excellent writing and communication skills and an engaging personality
• Strong report writing skills
• Passion to work in carbon markets

Location

Remote (But in the US/ Canada time zone).

Travel 2-3 times to India, to participate in the team’s global convenings
