This role blends a strong service ethos with hands-on knowledge of Spanish payroll and employment legislation, ensuring full compliance with labour law and statutory requirements. Whilst being the local expert in Spain, the role will collaborate closely with an international HR team. We operate a hybrid working policy, with at least 3 days per week in the Madrid office.<h2>Job Description:</h2>Key responsibilities and Authorities<ul><li>Manage Spanish payroll with external provider</li><li>Act as the first point of contact for employees and manages via the HR ticketing system, owning resolution from intake to close queries within agreed SLAs</li><li>Ensure compliance with Spanish labour law, tax and social security regulations</li><li>Prepare, review, and manage employment offers, contracts, and contract changes</li><li>Oversee time &amp; attendance, absences, parental leave, and sickness administration in Workday</li><li>Coordinate statutory reporting and audits</li><li>Act as the main contact for payroll, benefits, and HR administration queries</li><li>Support employee lifecycle administration (onboarding, changes, offboarding)</li><li>Liaise with tax advisors, payroll vendors, and external authorities when required</li><li>Champion a continuous improvement mindset – proactively flag friction points in existing processes and propose fixes</li><li>Partner with the wider People Operations and People Business Partner teams to ensure consistent, joined up support across the employee journey</li></ul>Technical and cross Competences (Optional)<ul><li>3-5 years’ experience in payroll and HR administration in Spain</li><li>Solid working knowledge Spanish labour law and payroll processes and regulations</li><li>Experience with HRIS / payroll systems (Workday is a plus) – comfortable working with a ticketing/case management tool (desirable)</li><li>Experience managing HR administration in other European countries is a plus</li><li>Fluent English is mandatory</li><li>Excellent organisation and attention to detail, proactive, focus on excellence, strong communications skills and able to work autonomously</li></ul>Travel RequirementsIrregular travel, once or twice per year to UK or within Europe.Pay and benefitsAt Nadara, we’re committed to creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported and empowered to grow.Our rewards package reflects that commitment, including flexible ways of working, continuous learning and development opportunities, and initiatives focused on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.We recognise effort and dedication, and we make sure it’s matched with fair pay and meaningful benefits - join us and be part of an international renewable energy company that invests in both your personal and professional growth.Salary range: 35K-45K + variable bonus and benefitsThe compensation range indicated in the job posting represents an estimated average range for the position.
