Elemental is seeking a passionate self-starter to join its Equity & Access team as Project Manager. In this role, you will design and implement clear and comprehensive processes for the Equity & Access team and continue to build our project management tools and systems. In addition to supporting the Equity & Access team in furthering our methodology so that it is visible and legible so that we can be an outstanding conduit to communities on the frontlines of climate change for the companies we support in the climate, clean infrastructure, and innovation sectors. This is an encouraging team within the organization that will ultimately be expected to lead the equity-centered initiatives at Elemental. 

This position will report to the Managing Director, Equity & Access and manage across the projects led by the Manager of Innovation, Equity & Access, Career Pathways Manager and the Senior Partnerships Manager, Equity & Access. The role will also be tasked with ensuring the Equity & Access team’s completion of all contract deliverables are done in a timely manner and in adherence to Elemental’s quality, mission, and values of kuleana (responsibility & stewardship) and joyful work.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project definition and planning 
  • Work with team members to create project briefs at the start of a project including timeline, milestones, deliverables, and tasks
  • Add timelines, achievements, deliverables and tasks to team project management system
  • Check in with team members to make sure they are on board and expectations and outcomes are realistic
  • Lead our Equity & Access projects, timelines, and tasks 
  • Know the status of Equity & Access projects at all times
  • Use project management tools like Airtable and Basecamp3 to keep track of project status
  • Ensure the Equity & Access team’s completion of all contract deliverables is done in a timely manner and in adherence to Elemental’s quality, mission, and values
  • Know where Equity & Access team members are with tasks and adjust timeline accordingly
  • Communicate project statuses across our team
  • Co-create and strengthen processes and infrastructure to run our workflow as we grow
  • Work with Manager, Equity & Access Innovation to co-develop process that aligns with principles of equitable behavior. 
  • Test, and share that process with team leads. 
  • Co-develop feedback loop between Elemental’s Equity In program and Elemental’s Equity & Access program that demonstrates our ability to learn and grow with our stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of equity and justice fundamentals like - power dynamics, who is/is not in the room, who is impacted the most, sharing history & context, and decision-making visibility

Core Competencies:

  • Substantial work experience and education
  • Experience in design, program development, strategy, or a related field with a track record of leading sophisticated, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Strong project management skills; adept at meeting deadlines and consistently following through to completion of projects
  • Strong communication – oral and written with ability to communicate across various teams and collaborators. 
  • Demonstrate Elemental’s four values: Growth mindset, Humble spirit, Joyful work, and Kuleana (responsibility and stewardship)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in product management for web product 
  • Experience creating processes and programming that prioritize lived experience, power dynamics, and accessibility in your current work 
  • Experience in the early-stage innovation space, with startups, or related ecosystem
  • Experience building a program in its early stages and constantly building for clarity 
  • Experience working with technical or entrepreneurship-related organizations

Tools We Use

You must be proficient or willing to learn: 

  • Project Management Software (Airtable, Basecamp 3) 
  • CRM (Salesforce) 
  • Slack 
  • Document Repositories (Google Suite, Box)

Other Details:

We will consider candidates located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi or the Bay Area, California where we have HQs. Elemental has a hybrid working model and this role will be expected to be available remotely during HQ working hours based on home office location, and when in-person work resumes must be able to commute to one of our HQ locations: Honolulu, Hawaiʻi or East Palo Alto, California.

Compensation & Benefits

Elemental Excelerator offers a competitive salary based on the organization’s compensation philosophy, which is grounded in market data. We also offer comprehensive health & welfare benefits and top of the market paid time off. This is a full-time "at-will" position working 40 hours per week.
