Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You'll be working within OVO's Procurement Team which sits within the Finance area, reporting to the Senior Procurement Manager. Buying goods or services is a crucial part of OVO’s business. It enables us to deliver a whole range of products to our customers - marketing campaigns, smart meters and everything in between.

The Procurement team focuses on driving commercial benefits to support OVO's targets, reducing risk and driving compliance whilst still allowing OVO to operate in an agile manner. We need to maintain a knowledge of relevant supply markets, products, technologies and trends whilst continuously striving for improvements in cost, value and innovation.

 

What will I be doing?

You'll be responsible for business partnering with operational team members (i.e Heads of Departments and Managers) to help develop various category strategies (including but not limited to Media Buying, Creative, Digital and Public Relations).

You'll use data to build and keep updated a clear view of category spend and suppliers, whilst developing a category savings opportunity analysis. You'll also be helping deliver savings that contribute towards the OVO procurement team objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring relevant budgets are in place and all OVO team members are aligned with the procurement policy and process
  • Continuously striving for improvements in cost, value and innovation
  • Continuous improvement of Procurement tools (P2P, RFP, Contract database)whilst managing change with OVO team members
  • Supporting the implementation of new procurement systems and process
  • Supporting OVOs Plan Zero objectives

 

Is this the job for me?

You'll have proven experience within a Procurement role, even better if you're MCIPS qualified (or working towards this). You're a strong negotiator and you'll have had experience in business partnering with previous exposure to senior colleagues.

Life at OVO can be quite fast-paced so you're happy working in a constantly evolving environment and proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change

Ideally you'll have:

  • Strong presentation, relationship building, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • The ability to apply skills beyond the traditional functions of Procurement and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues
  • Knowledge of Procurement systems (i.e Source to Contract and P2P)

You should also be a delivery focused self starter. team-oriented and with a collaborative, pragmatic approach. Experience in an energy and technology businesses is desirable but not crucial.
