Job Description

Cleartrace, an Austin-based Climate Tech startup, is on a mission to help companies proactively decarbonize their energy consumption. We are looking for an experienced Product Manager and energy market subject matter expert to join our growing team and help shape our products. In this role, you will oversee and manage the lifecycle of our products from ideation to execution, delivery, and refinement, with a specific focus on our Energy Supplier customers and their needs.  We are looking for someone who will be passionate about defining useful products for our customers and a desire to work with peers in delivering that vision. The ideal candidate has relevant energy market experience to strengthen our team’s expertise and be impactful right away.

Responsibilities​:

  • Inform the product team on current energy market trends, tools, and mechanisms
  • Perform market research to ideate product improvements and inventions for energy suppliers and their customers.
  • Conduct competitive and other market analysis to drive internal strategy.
  • Specify and oversee customer research objectives and processes.
  • Organize strategic and customer feedback into product roadmap initiatives and drive scope and timeline discussions.
  • Oversee the design, planning, execution, and release of new products for our customers.
  • Represent the company and the product in customer, investor, or other demos and discussions.
  • Establish customer success initiatives addressing onboarding, training, and ongoing support.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience working within the energy industry
  • Experience developing energy products or solutions for customers
  • Expertise working with energy data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Superior project management, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure
  • Natural tendency to be curious, positive, and creative
  • Team player who collaborates well with others
  • Strength in simplifying and visualizing complex concepts
  • Experience employing data-driven decisioning to prioritize and execute a product roadmap
  • Familiarity and experience working closely with engineering teams using agile, kanban and/or scrum methodologies for product development
  • Comfort leading or conducting client meetings to drive product diligence or development
  • Impassioned advocacy and sincere empathy for the customer and their needs
  • Expertise in blockchain technology and data science
  • Understanding of the REC market, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and other energy contracts
  • Experience in Renewables/Carbon-Free Energy
  • Knowledge of various carbon accounting methodologies and standards
