Job Description
Remora is seeking a reliable new team member to join the Operations team in Georgetown, KY. This individual will play a key role in overseeing field operations at a customer site. This is a contract role; 15-20 hours a week for 3 months with the potential to extend and will include on-the-job training specific to the position.
We’re a 50-person climate tech startup based in Detroit, MI. We build a device that captures a semi-truck’s carbon emissions directly from the tailpipe. We sell the CO2 to end-users, and split that revenue with our customers, so our device pays for itself in just a couple years.
We’re piloting our technology with some of the largest companies in the world, including three of the Fortune 10, and we’ve raised multiple rounds of funding from leading investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Union Square Ventures, and First Round Capital.
Climate change disproportionately impacts communities of color, so we’re looking for candidates deeply committed to reducing emissions and to racial justice. We especially encourage people of color, women, and members of other communities historically excluded in startups to apply.

Responsibilities
- Manages daily operations at a customer site in Georgetown, KY.
- Includes, but is not limited to, managing all carbon dioxide offloads, collecting customer feedback, documenting daily safety procedures, and establishing regular communication with the Remora Operations Lead and customer field operations team.
You're the type of person who
- Is responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to safety. This role is critical for ensuring a seamless customer experience, and candidates should be comfortable learning safety best practices and documenting these in a daily log.
- Is comfortable operating independently and interacting with a variety of customers including fleet managers, site managers, drivers and technicians on a daily basis.
- Is proactive. Quickly identifies potential issues and knows when to solve versus escalate.
- Is a good communicator. Able to communicate effectively with various members of the Remora operations team (both remote and in-person) and with customers on a daily basis.
- Has experience and comfort with hand tools, and is willing to learn new tools during onboarding.
- Able to lift 30 lbs. overhead on a regular basis, climb a ladder, and move around on the chassis of a semi-truck, and work outdoors in various conditions.

- Located within commuting distance of Georgetown, KY.
- Meets the physical requirements for the position.
- Has own transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Able to commit to some on-call time each week.

Logistics
- Location: Georgetown, KY
- Start date: November 1, 2022
- COVID-19: Remora requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Applicants are required to submit proof of vaccination prior to beginning employment. Appropriate COVID-19 safety precautions are implemented in the workplace.
Compensation
- $21-$26/hour, depending on experience
