Frontend Developer

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

We're looking for a hardworking frontend web developer to help us build custom internal facing web applications. QuantumScape research scientists interact with experimental data through several mediums including web applications. As we embrace new technology, we are developing progressive web applications (PWAs) to improve on the experimentation process. In the battery world, the functionality we convey through a web interface could include image viewing, time-series data analysis, experimentation planning, electrical data analysis, custom dashboards, and resource coordination.
Though we have selected Vue as our front-end framework, we are open to hiring frontend developer with experience in any modern framework including React, Angular, or Polymer. The successful candidate for this position should demonstrate proficiency and comfort in developing in a modern tech stack and interacting securely with APIs. The candidate will become versed in the increasingly impactful battery industry and be able to anticipate our research team's needs, seek out challenges, and embrace learning opportunities.
Job Description:
You will develop single page web applications that conform to the PWA design pattern to enable a native-like experience in the web.You will approach design problems creatively with your UI/UX background, simplifying complex user experiences on the platformYou will build data visualizations to help depict sophisticated data patternsYou will utilize the latest web standards and methods of securing of web applications
Required Skills and Experience:
At least 2-3 years professional experience in frontend developmentA good communicator and an outstanding teammate.Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, SASSProficient in at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React, Angular, or preferably Vue.Experience in data visualization frameworks such as Chart.js, D3.js, or Plotly.js
