We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll Manager who is passionate about end-to-end ownership of the payroll processes and is excited about being a member of the accounting team at an organization making a meaningful difference in the world. The ideal candidate will have a prior history of owning and processing payroll in a dynamic fast-growth environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Key owner in transitioning from a third-party PEO provider to in-house payroll
  • Full ownership of the payroll processes and payroll system configurations
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory payroll requirements and tax filings
  • Process contributions to fund employees’ benefits accounts (401k, FSA, HSA, other)
  • Reconcile payroll balance sheet accounts, prepare payroll journal entries and accruals
  • Reconcile carrier statements from benefits providers, resolve any discrepancies
  • Administration of one-time payments (bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, etc)

What we value:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 5 years of payroll management experience
  • Focused, motivated, able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with multistate and global payroll administration (the United States and Canada)
  • Experience with Workday, ADP, and accounting systems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to follow-through
  • Ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment to ensure key deliverables are met in a timely manner
  • Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred, but not required
