Job Description

This is a FTC.

Location: Flexible/remote, with time spent in Bristol/London as required.

We’re making zero carbon happen

We’re OVO Group, a big family of companies united by a single vision: to get to zero carbon, fast.

We call this Plan Zero – and it shows how we’ll be fighting the climate crisis and transforming the way people use energy over the next decade. To do this, we need the sharpest minds. Are you up for the challenge?

Do great green things with OVO Energy

So much has changed since we launched in 2009.  Our goal remains the same though: make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Just as it was on day one.

Everyone belongs at OVO

Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive movement: teams of brilliant people, with unique talents, skills, passions, and experiences.

We encourage everyone to join us, whatever your gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, life experience, or background. So please come as you are – we can’t wait to meet you.

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

Your office will be based between either London or Bristol, and sit within OVO Energy’s Home Services Commercial Team part of our OVO Energy Propositions directorate. This can be a remote role with travel into the office as and when required. You will report to the Head of Commercial, OVO Energy Home Services. You will work on a range of products and services to help our members manage and look after their home.

What will I be doing?

OVO Energy Home Services is all about being the leading Home Service Provider in the UK, trusted to look after our member’s homes. Whether it's as small as a smart thermostat or as big as a new boiler installation project we want to help our members look after their homes. Members trust us to deliver the services they need,  be there when they need us most and make sure their homes are cosy and working as they should when they break down. From providing energy insights to help our members become more efficient to providing boiler cover and peace of mind we do it all.  To do this we need great member propositions and channels to grow our Home Services offering bringing new members to OVO Energy Home Services.  So we are looking for an exceptional commercial manager that can develop, drive and deliver the products and services to our members. You’ll be managing the commercial delivery of a range of products from home energy management services to boiler cover and breakdown products. This needs to be delivered cost effectively, and with great customer service. You’ll work closely with business partners across a range of teams including marketing, brand, product, tech, customer service and operations to help bring propositions to life for our members.

You’ll help to set the strategy and have a say in what products and propositions we go for, helping shape the innovative services and solutions that in the future we’ll roll out to the mass market, so it's a super exciting role that can help position OVO as a real player in the home service and technology space.

As we grow our Home Services team and increase our efforts to decarbonise heating from our 5 million customers’ homes, we need a commercially minded specialist! Specifically, the successful candidate would:

  • Develop and shape the strategy to grow OVO Energy Home Services
  • Identify commercial opportunities and viability and make recommendations that align to home services strategy
  • Work across range of products to bring services and solutions that add value to our members
  • Work closely with our business partners to brief campaigns, promotions and offers to grow the home services business with both existing members and non-members - and ensure those campaigns are communicated effectively, both within the business and to customers.
  • Identify opportunities to promote existing products across our channels, and to work with the teams that manage those channels to maximise those opportunities
  • Look for opportunities to simplify and improve the ways we speak about our products across the board, from introducing new products to explaining the difference between them.
  • Deliver value to members through timely and relevant communications throughout the customer lifecycle to engage and enforce the value of the products and services we offer.
  • Manage project deliverables such as budget, scope, timelines, cost’s, delays and complaints.
  • Report on commercial progress of projects
  • Analyse post project outcomes and make recommendations for future projects that can drive the GTM strategy in outer years.

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you will have:

  • A deep knowledge of the energy, home service and insurance is preferred.
  • Degree level education or, in exceptional circumstances, significant relevant experience in lieu of this;
