Job Description:
Atomo Coffee is currently seeking an experienced Plant Manager who is strategic, communicative, and looking for a challenge! Atomo is building their first Ingredient Processing Facility (IPF) in the Coachella Valley and needs a strong leader to come build an allstar team. You are dependable, adaptable and are excited about working in a start-up environment, which includes wearing many hats, being able to jump across the aisle to help a colleague and lead multiple projects across different locations effectively and efficiently.
The Plant Manager will be a key member of the operations team and leader of our Ingredient Processing Facility. They will drive production, assist with build out and embody Atomo’s core values, fostering them within the new team. This role will report directly to the Head of Operations.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, direct, or coordinate the operations of the ingredient processing facility.
Train in all production practices to proficiency to be able to train new employees
Develop performance policies, manage daily operations, and plan the use of materials
Plan and organize labor needed to ensure operational objectives are met
Coordinate with Head of Operations to create fluid and achievable operations plans
Manage budget and monitor spending for IPF Operations
Ensure compliance to CA/OSHA regulations for the facility
Work with Director of New Facilities Development as boots on the ground for vendors, construction crews, and contractors
Any other projects as needed or directed by Head of Operations
Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in production operations
Ability to work and lead independently and gain clarity from remote executive leadership
Experience with building new production facilities or migrating existing production lines strongly preferred
Proven leadership skills in employee development, training, and retention
Strong attention to detail and time management with ability to balance multiple projects in a effective manner
Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues
Licensing and regulatory compliance in accordance with California
Forklift and pallet-jack certification
Critical team player, willing to jump in and learn production as well as train colleagues on your skillset
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, manufacturing, business or related field is preferred but not required
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
Stand for extend periods of time
Walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and climb over equipment within the production area as well as loading zones
Converse in a range of environments from loud production areas to office space.
The employee must be able to:
Use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds often, using proper bending and lifting. Lift 25 pounds overhead repeatedly and safely.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth perception, color determination, hand/eye coordination, and hand/eye/foot coordination and the ability to adjust focus.
Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, and compiling data.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however louder noise levels may be experienced when production is occurring or when maintenance work is being performed. Environmental conditions in the plant include exposure to elevated surfaces, vibration, moving objects, noise, slippery floors, electrical hazards, heat, and mechanical hazards.
