With a strong foundation in industrial or engineering-services design, you're comfortable taking skid-based, modular, and containerized systems from concept through detailing and release—applying sound judgment and seeking guidance from senior team members when needed.You communicate clearly, collaborate easily across mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and field service teams, and work just as optimally on your own. Above all, you bring a genuine commitment to safety and quality across office, shop, and client-site environments. This role is based in Rochester and Rush, NY, with occasional travel (typically under 25%).<h2>What You Get To Do</h2><ul><li>Design industrial process and mechanical systems—especially skid-based and modular equipment—from concept through detailed design and release.</li><li>Solve moderately complex technical problems using sound engineering judgment.</li><li>Develop and review key deliverables, including requirements documents, general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, and piping layouts and details.</li><li>Perform simulation, analysis, and validation of components and integrated systems.</li><li>Contribute to internal and client-facing design reviews and support proposal and estimating activities .</li><li>Support fabrication teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, and coordinate across engineering disciplines and field service for a smooth handoff to build and deployment .</li><li>Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance design processes, tools, and standards .</li></ul><h2>What You Bring To The Team</h2>Required<ul><li>5+ years of process and/or mechanical design experience in an industrial or engineering-services environment.</li><li>Strong design skills in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and SolidWorks6.</li><li>Experience with design analysis, simulation, and gathering and documenting technical requirements.</li><li>Strong communication, organization, and personal management skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.</li><li>An AS and/or BS or equivalent experience in Drafting/Build, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a similar field.</li><li>Ability to work on-site in Rochester and/or Rush, NY, with travel up to 25% and a proactive commitment to safety.</li></ul>Preferred<ul><li>Experience with industrial equipment/automation, cost and engineering estimates, ISO 9001, and Lean/Six Sigma.</li><li>Knowledge of pressure vessel and piping design, pipe stress/frame analysis (Caesar II, SolidWorks FEA, ANSYS), 3D point clouds, and OSHA/process safety</li></ul>The hourly rate for this position is $32.00 - $42.00. This range represents the Company’s good faith estimate of the base compensation for this role at the time of posting.  Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, internal equity, and geographic location. In addition to hourly rate, this role may be eligible for annual incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, subject to Company plans.
