Cruise’s Detection Engineering team defends against external adversaries and internal threats. Our goal is to protect Cruise: our autonomous vehicles & technology, our customers, and our employees.
Detection Engineering facilitates threat detection and response capabilities via the procurement of security-relevant data, as well as the creation and maintenance of threat detections. We aim to provide the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) with Cruise information system data in a manner that is comprehensive, uniform, centralized, and speedy. Moreover, the team strives to provide CIRT behavioral detections to improve Cruise’s security posture against external adversaries and internal threats. Detection Engineering maintains an internally-built logging and detection pipeline, and builds innovative data solutions that enable efficient log parsing, detection and analysis.
As part of our small team of engineers, you will be responsible for writing and integrating software that spans the detection and response lifecycle. We have autonomy to define what we build and how we build it.
As Cruise approaches commercialization, we need strong software engineering talent to help detect sophisticated cybersecurity attacks by adversaries. We welcome and thrive on outside-the-box thinking, which we need in order to make the cyber security problem tractable.

Vaccine Mandate.
At Cruise, we’re tasked with leading in the communities we serve — and doing our part to help keep our communities and our teams safe. Our #StaySafe culture transcends and informs all we do, and because of this, as of October 31, 2021 Cruise will be mandating COVID-19 vaccinations for all US-based Cruisers who need or want to access any of our US Cruise facilities and engage in any business travel — including attending any in-person Company-sponsored event.
If you are unable to get a vaccine due to a medical condition, disability, or a strongly-held religious belief, Cruise will consider requests for an accommodation.
