Job Description

As a Sr. Systems / Cloud Administrator, your mission will be to build and maintain digital infrastructure to enable scientists, engineers and non-technical team members to quickly do their jobs.

You will be located in our Natick MA office with occasional trips to our San Carlos, CA site. You will report to our Sr. Manager of IT.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Architect and administer both on premises and cloud-based servers and virtual machines
  • Maintain and improve networks, servers, and related company infrastructure for software development
  • Deploy and maintain networks linking multiple office locations and cloud-based resources
  • Prepare and implement data security, backup and disaster recovery
  • Ensure security and connectivity through VPN and firewall administration
  • Deploy and maintain internal and external applications including licensing, single sign on, and Windows AD.
  • Deploy and maintain industrial SCADA systems
  • On call before and after hours – including weekends and holidays especially for systems upgrades approximately 15 hours per month.
  • Manage onsite networks/wifi/security systems – including vendor relations
  • Assist with deployment of laptops and computers, using Microsoft Intune, Apple Business Manager, Rippling, or other management tool
  • Assist employees with Helpdesk issues as needed

PRIOR EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES

  • Significant IT experience (7+ years industry) managing hybrid cloud architectures for engineering organizations with a diversity of on-premise and public cloud assets
  • Experience with security administration required; experience with OpenVPN preferred
  • Experience building or maintaining industrial automation software; hands-on experience with OSIsoft PI System highly preferred
  • Knowledge of the GCP ecosystem and best practices for VPC network architecture; ability to deploy and manage applications on cloud (GCP/AWS)
  • Excited to work with legacy equipment as needed
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite of products
  • Experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
  • Experience developing automated CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment highly preferred
  • People-focused skills with excellent hands on abilities and lots of patience
