The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in San Francisco, California.Accountabilities:<ul><li>Attend the weekly customer meetings</li><li>Help customer understand the Hitachi TCUP strategy for construction design including:</li><li>Explaining best industry practices as it relates to electrical surveys, cable pulling, conduit fill issues</li><li>Lengths/types of access required to perform the pilot survey</li><li>Providing Context on the contract clauses that were identified as impractical for Hitachi Rail as generally falls under Installer scope.</li><li>Lead the construction team in planning, coordinating, and executing all phases of the project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.</li><li>Collaborate with the engineering team, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop and implement project plans and strategies.</li><li>Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks or delays, and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.</li><li>Manage project resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, effectively to optimize productivity and minimize costs.</li><li>Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards throughout the construction process.</li><li>Oversee the deployment phase of the project, ensuring efficient and timely implementation.</li><li>Reviews the overall planning of project activities to identify critical milestones and priorities.</li><li>Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and solicit feedback.</li><li>Ensure the project is performed to the standard safety and quality assurance requirements.</li><li>Follow the work progress of all Construction activities to accurately oversee the Subcontractor quality standards, in collaboration with the quality manager.</li><li>Coordinate with the Commissioning Manager for handover of the installed system and subsequent test, commissioning and start-up activities.</li></ul>Required Skills/ Knowledge:<ul><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, preferably in the rail or transportation sector.</li><li>Strong technical knowledge of construction methodologies, techniques, and best practices.</li><li>Experience managing projects involving signalling, telecom and power supply systems is highly desirable.</li><li>Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.</li><li>Proficiency in project management software and tools.</li><li>Professional certifications such as PMP or CCM are a plus </li><li>Relevant knowledge to ensure that the company is producing high-quality installation and documents that meet customer expectations.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.</li></ul>Languages:<ul><li>Written and spoken English proficiency.</li></ul>In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.The salary range for this position is $ $148,212 - $222,318 per year.
