Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor, determination, &amp; leads by example. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to lead the team through technical &amp; organizational challenges and to deliver impactful results in an ambiguous environment.   You will:  <ul><li>Solve complex component/system level problems using standard problem-solving techniques  </li><li>Data driven proactive problem solving, root cause analysis &amp; issue avoidance due to process deviations or critical part quality issues  </li><li>Develop (from pilot to implementation) complex processes with particular focus on laser welding &amp; associated quality verification and failure detection methods into production readiness while meeting associated ISO standards </li><li>Establish technical depth to triage and troubleshoot all HV Battery product &amp; associated test spec. issues </li><li>Provide design for manufacturability (DFM), design failure mode and effect analysis (DFMEA) &amp; serviceability feedback in future product development processes  </li><li>Responsible for setting up process flow &amp; implementation of assembly drawings covering product specifications relevant to manufacturing  </li><li>Responsible for creating a one-team culture to drive product design issues to closure in future/current products with deep collaboration with cross-functional teams </li><li>Provide guidance on build process development and improvement opportunities for high-volume production lines </li><li>Lead product change management to address known product compatibility issues for high volume production or known product design issues in production in close collaboration with cross-functional teams </li></ul> Requirements:  <ul><li>BS in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Automotive Engineering disciplines with 8+ years of automotive experience in design and release of vehicle systems or attributes </li><li>Generally, requires 5+ years of related experience</li><li>Experience in product problem solving using industry standard techniques </li><li>Excellent in data analysis using statistics Minitab or JMP, Python, MATLAB </li><li>Previously participated in prototype builds or launch events </li><li>Technical depth in HV Battery Systems (Cylindrical Cells, Battery Modules, Battery Enclosure, &amp; Battery Pack) &amp; associated troubleshooting </li><li>Experience in product development or improvement of HV Battery sub-systems </li><li>Experience in using DFMEA, DVP&amp;R, PFMEA, Control Plan, DFM, &amp; RCA with cross-functional teams </li><li>Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required using Atlassian products </li><li>Requires proficiency in Catia or 3DX, Stack up analysis (2D &amp; 3D), SQL, &amp; Vector tools </li><li>Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis </li></ul>Preferred: <ul><li>Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Automotive disciplines with automotive experience in design &amp; release of vehicle systems or attributes </li><li>Prior experience with Wire bonding, Laser welding &amp; associated in process quality verification methodologies, and highly scalable </li><li>Experience with CAD IN 3DEXPERIENCE </li><li>Six Sigma Green / Black belt certification </li><li>Experience with Atlassian products like Jira and Confluence </li><li>Engineering-in-Training (EIT) or certification in engineering fundamentals </li><li>Collegiate FSAE/BAJA/Similar experience is preferred </li></ul><div> </div><div>At Lucid, we don’t just welcome diversity - we celebrate it!
