About the RoleCorinex is seeking an experienced Mechanical &amp; Product Design Engineer to support the development and industrialization of hardware products for energy and smart-grid applications. The role focuses on mechanical design, product integration, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing readiness. Experience with the German BSI environment and certification processes is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Design mechanical components, enclosures, assemblies, and hardware products from concept to production.</li><li>Create 3D CAD models in SolidWorks, engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.</li><li>Develop mechanical solutions involving PCB integration, connectors, cabling, thermal management, structural integrity, and installation requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with electrical, hardware, manufacturing, and product teams.</li><li>Support material selection, tolerance analysis, prototyping, testing, verification, and validation.</li><li>Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and support transition from prototype to serial production.</li><li>Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners on tooling, materials, quality, and engineering changes.</li><li>Support troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, product risk assessments, and design reviews.</li><li>Maintain drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering change documentation.</li><li>Support German and European regulatory requirements, including BSI evaluation and certification where applicable.</li></ul> Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.</li><li>Several years of experience in mechanical design, product development, or hardware engineering.</li><li>Strong experience designing electromechanical products involving PCBs, connectors, cabling, or electronic hardware.</li><li>Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD tools.</li><li>Strong knowledge of materials, tolerances, plastics, sheet metal, machining, assembly, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing processes.</li><li>Experience taking hardware products from concept and prototype through validation and production.</li><li>Strong hands-on problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.</li><li>Professional English proficiency; German is strongly preferred.</li></ul> Preferred Experience<ul><li>Experience with BSI requirements or certification processes.</li><li>Experience in smart metering, smart grid, utilities, energy infrastructure, telecommunications, industrial electronics, or IoT hardware.</li><li>Familiarity with European compliance requirements such as CE, EMC, RoHS, REACH, electrical safety, and IP protection.</li><li>Experience working with certification bodies, test laboratories, suppliers, or contract manufacturers.</li></ul></div>
