Job Description

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

We are seeking a motivated and diligent technician to support our battery research projects. The current shift for this role is Monday thru Friday, 8 hours a day.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with battery scientists and engineers to carry out cutting-edge experiments.Execute electrical qualification of cell prototypes for next-generation batteries according to SOP.Carefully disassemble cell prototypes and perform detailed analysis to identify and characterize different failure modes.Use your attention to detail to identify issues with equipment/materials or processing steps. Improve SOPs to increase efficiency and quality.Maintain a clean, organized and safe lab workspace.Communicate results and update daily progress.Communicate clearly and openly; strong affinity for teamwork.Work closely with a team in an energizing environment.Organized in recording and managing experimental activity.
Minimum Requirements:
One year or more of hands-on, independent laboratory experience in a R&D environment and/or degree from a 2-4 year program.
Preferred:2+ years experience in the battery industryProficiency in MS office suite, and ability to learn additional specialized programs.Proficient in safe laboratory practices especially in handling powders, solvents and chemicals.
