About the Role:  

The Workplace team is seeking a motivated teammate to support daily and large-scale projects at Planet. 

Planet’s culture ties heavily to our physical office, our “mothership,”  and keeping it running smoothly will be your job! Sitting in the People/Experience team, this role is responsible for the upkeep of our working environment, ensuring our home is always clean, safe, secure and agile.  (We’ve learned a lot during covid and being flexible in our office environment is a must! )  In addition to keeping the facility in tip-top order, you also liaise with our manufacturing floor to help keep them on schedule and adjust to build needs as necessary .

The ideal candidate balances technical maintenance with excellent customer services and has a passion for efficient procedures and policies. Your personal motto is to be “proactive and not reactive,” and you pride yourself on handling multiple concerns at once, all while being composed in pressure situations.  

This is an in-office role,  Monday through Friday, 8 hours daily. Resume + cover letter both required when applying, thank you! 

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Facilities maintenance, including consistent maintenance schedule of all facilities systems,  office and space planning, security, cleanliness and safety.
  • Vendor management, inclusive of onsite coordination and guidance for all contractors in plant systems, including temperature and air control,  janitorial, security, catering, etc.
  • Proactively engage with multiple departments, define current and upcoming needs, including space planning, and facilitate cross-team support. 
  • Keep Planet fully stocked of inventory, supplies, equipment, and food & beverage.
  • Front desk reception duties, including coordinating in-office employees, visitors, vendors, and deliveries (as needed, on-call).
  • Other duties as the role evolves.

What You Bring:

  • Able to perform basic mechanical repairs and troubleshoot steps.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and operating procedures (software and mechanical). 
  • Implement existing procedures and protocols, observe and offer suggestions on improving upon them for efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong prioritization skills, able to quickly shift gears and comfortable shuffling priorities as needs change.
  • Outstanding observational skills (watch, observe, learn, report), communication skills (to comprehend and give instructions) and organizational skills (create and keep deadlines, manage appointments, make yearly maintenance schedules). 
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted, comfortably climb ladders (10’)

An average day in the life includes:

  • On-call for maintenance issues: replacing lights, fixing water machine, change kegs for cold-brew and kombucha
  • Coordinate with janitorial team for cleaning needs
  • Daily sweep of HQ, ensuring we are compliant with all safety standards
  • Escort any onsite vendors including pest control, laundry, food service, and supplies
  • Review of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, lighting and general upkeep, coordinating any maintenance issues as needed
  • Connect with security team, surveying any overnight concerns and establishing priorities for next day
  • Coordinate with greater workplace/experience team to cover front desk or assist in any large guest events
