Job Description

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

Do you want to make a major contribution to this part of the energy economy? As an Electrochemical Engineer on the Material Development team, you will give to realize high energy, power and stable electrode layer on our next generation solid-state energy storage.
Responsibilities:
Design the electrode and fabricate solid-state batteries for test.Manage test progress and arrange lab resources to support the team.Craft the electrochemical tests to find the excellent configuration of solid-state batteries.Analysis of electrochemical data to understand the material properties.Collaborate with a team of scientists and engineers to develop processing methods for groundbreaking battery materials.Proactive to challenge and learn new things.Work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to seek sophisticated challenges.Connect with all levels in the organization; clearly and logically able to convey ideas and thought processes, both verbally and in writing.
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.Hands on experience in laboratory.
Preferred:
Experience of working in the field of battery sector.Experience with Statistical Process Control.Script coding skills (python, jmp).Experience in image analysis.
Physical Requirements:
May work with airtight isolation chambers and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 50-60% of the time.May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the waist.May be required to use hand or power tools.Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms.
