Role DescriptionThe Test Engineer role will join a growing test operations team, part of our Validation & Development Operations group, to help develop our core technology. In this role, you will improve, write, and create electrical, mechanical, and electrochemical test processes for various cell and systems requirements as we scale up our Multiday Energy Storage Technologies.
Working with a large cross-functional technology group, you will support battery testing, facilitate test data analysis, and contribute to test operations process development - directly impacting our mission towards enabling a 100% renewable grid.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the testing, validating, and qualifying of Form's battery architecture to continually improve the system design
  • Work with other test engineers and technicians to commission the battery test stands and execute test plans; Analyze test data, document, and present outcomes; Participate in cell teardowns, debug test instrument issues and root cause analyses
  • Create and document SOPs/ Work Instruction framework for test execution and train technicians on new processes
  • Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to create, update and improve the test execution forecast planning
  • Analyze test data, document, and present outcomes; Lead efforts to track the performance of ongoing tests and weekly control units and employ statistical analysis tools to identify performance and test stand variability.

What You'll Bring:

  • Passion for our mission, sustainability, and climate change
  • BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
  • 3+ years of experience in test engineering, including electrical, mechanical, or electrochemical systems
  • Knowledge of battery test methods, device/sensors, LabView, Python Scripting, MATLAB, statistical analysis (Minitab or JMP), and modifying, writing, and executing test scripts
  • Laboratory safety knowledge
  • A pragmatic approach to problem-solving that blends good judgment, clear communication, dependable follow-through, and creative use of resources
