Job Description

QuantumScape is on a mission to transform energy storage with solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. The company’s next-generation batteries are designed to enable longer range, faster charging and enhanced safety in electric vehicles to support the transition away from legacy energy sources toward a lower carbon future.

We are looking for a dedicated engineer to join our team to support process development and continuous improvement activities. In this role, you will have the opportunity to continuously improve existing coating, printing, lamination, and sintering processes as well as support the development of new processing methods.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to screen printing operations, monitor processes, solve production problems and spot equipment deficiencies.Sustain baseline operations and quickly adopt new techniques to improve the efficiency and quality of the process.Work towards reducing variability in our current processes.Maintain safety stock of key raw materials, conduct incoming quality control (IQC), purchase and manage essential spare parts for the equipment.Driving process control innovation in collaboration with senior members.Documenting processes and preparing progress reports.Work in accordance with all safety procedures.
Minimum requirements:
B.S. in Ceramics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or equivalent.You have contributed to a hands-on design project and/or conducted experiments in a laboratory setting.Your time-management and organizational skills allow you to balance multiple high-impact projects.You share a real passion for our mission.
Preferred:
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, material science, statistical process control.Proficient in safe laboratory practices especially in handling powders, solvents, and chemicals. Hands-on experience in a wet chemistry. laboratory environment.Experience in using at least one type of engineering software (e.g., JMP, MATLAB/python/R, etc.)Learn and adapt quickly.Respond to challenges with solutions.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
