The Research Operations Program Manager collaborates with researchers to support their study goals and organize the planning and execution of user research projects. The role’s core objectives are to provide high quality, reliable research participants, and develop the operational infrastructure to support a growing research team.

The ideal candidate is an extremely organized self-starter with a keen eye for detail and strong project management capabilities. You will have the ability to quickly assess and act on research requests, and an affinity toward optimizing processes to increase output, coupled with knowledge of UX design processes and participant recruitment tactics and strategies.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Track and organize team reports & ensure research reports are accessible to teams across the company

  • Own & scale participant recruitment across the team while ensuring all recruiting is done in compliance with Cruise policies

  • Develop and maintain programs that enable non researchers & researchers to regularly conduct research

  • Regularly identify needs & pain points of the research team. Propose new ideas to improve efficiency with documentation, processes, and tools

  • Experiment with new tools, processes, and techniques to improve the work produced by you and your peers.  Continuously propose new ideas, tools, and processes for improving workflow & efficiency

  • Source and evaluate research vendors to support operations/programs/studies

  • Actively engage with legal, security, procurement and facility teams to support operations/programs/studies

  • Develop processes to enable scale the coordination of study logistics for onsite and remote participant research studies including: facility scheduling, A/V equipment management, fleet operations, and distribution of incentives

  • Onboard new team members to working seamlessly with research operations

What you must have:

  • B.S. or B.A.

  • 5+ years of prior work experience in a research operations or program manager role performing similar responsibilities as described above

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, stay organized, and you enjoy sweating the details

  • Strong project management, organizational, communication and multitasking skills
