Job Description

We are looking for world-class talent to tackle challenging projects that will ultimately enable our planet to be powered with 100% clean energy.

First, the good news: Humans have installed a little over 1 TW of cumulative solar capacity over the last 20 years - solar is now the cheapest source of energy generation around the globe.

Now, the challenge: Humans have to build 1 TW of solar capacity every year for the next 30+ years.  We need to build new technology and overhaul the way solar power is designed, developed, and built to make this happen.

And, we need help. We're expanding our team of curious, collaborative, and hands-on engineers and operators. Come own large parts of product, company, or business development and help make our big plans a reality!

About The Role

As a core part of the R+D team you will design and integrate robotic and automation hardware, firmware, and software. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a cross-functional engineering team with a highly talented group of engineers from varied backgrounds.

The salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $160,000 plus stock and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 6 - 10+ years

  • Develop autonomous, industrial robotic systems that will operate reliably in harsh field environments
  • Participate in initial conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
  • Develop system-level requirements
  • Architect, author, and debug software and firmware with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable for subsequent applications
  • Select, size, and spec both electrical and electromechanical components
  • Create detailed electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics; manage build and integration of these systems
  • Commission and deploy automated equipment and robotics into full production
  • Set, implement, and maintain schedules and budgets to ensure project completion

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM discipline
  • 4+ years of experience in the design, simulation, and commissioning of automation and controls systems for industrial, machine, robotic, test, or other electromechanical systems (student project team, internship experience, academic research, or personal mechatronics projects qualify)
  • Experience working with mechatronics hardware – motors & drives, sensors, actuators, etc.
  • Hands on aptitude – demonstrated ability to physically build/construct electromechanical systems as well as to dive in and troubleshoot a variety of system issues across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Hands on aptitude – able to dive in and troubleshoot a variety of system issues across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Idea generation and execution, mostly unsupervised
  • Desire to work in an incredibly fast paced startup environment

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
