We are looking for a Software Supplier Manager to join our software team. The goal of this Software Supplier Manager role  at Wisk is to ensure the specification, development, and delivery timeliness of supplier/partner provided Computing Platform Software (CPS) meet Wisk software functional, architectural, and quality objectives . You will be part of the Software  functional organization team that is responsible for Gen6 program software development, certification, and delivery to the aircraft and ground station systems.


The Candidate

  • The successful candidate is one that is respected in the aerospace engineering community as a highly knowledgeable and experienced technical leader who has direct hands-on experience developing and building type certified aircraft, from initial concept through flight testing and certification, with the technical breadth necessary to interface with all engineering functions such as Systems & Safety Engineering, Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Test, and Certification). 
  • In this role, the candidate must be proactive, forward thinking and self-motivated with the ability to partner with the supplier team to monitor and assess plans, progress, and timelines and drive Wisk requirements and needs into CPS product day to day execution. 

What you will do:

  • Maintain and execute CPS supplier oversight process
  • Ensure Wisk stakeholder needs are represented in CPS development roadmap
  • Ensure CPS capabilities and limitations are considered in Gen 6 software development activity
  • Make CPS design & architecture recommendations on behalf of Gen 6
  • Provide oversight, acceptance and integration of SW lifecycle artifacts from the supplier, including CPS releases
  • Be the main point of contact for the software function and IPTs regarding the CPS. 
  • Drive Wisk requirements into the project, advocate on behalf of the Wisk software function. 
  • Innovate means and explore expansion of the scope of CPS software to support all safety critical applications in the aircraft and ground station. 
  • Ensure integrability of the CPS product with aircraft and ground station applications. 

What you have done:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience in the civil aircraft industry, leading/participating in various Certification Audits (SOI#1-SOI#4)
  • Proven software development experience governed by processes for certified safety critical systems (DO-178B/C, etc ). 
  • Proven software development experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), Space and Time partitioned Operating Systems and DO-297
  • Experience developing low level infrastructure software that supports application development and integration
  • Proven software development experience in requirements, design, coding, and integration phases of development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in C or C++. 
  • Great interpersonal and oral/written  communication skills. 
  • Delivery driven attitude. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with peers across multiple engineering disciplines and corporate boundaries 

Desired:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in geographically dispersed team
  • Ability to perform formal software verification activities 
  • Understands and appreciates the roles of configuration management and quality assurance. 
  • Familiarization with industry standard tools such as JIRA, GIT, Bitbucket, etc
