Job Description

As one of the nation’s best community solar companies, Neighborhood Sun is looking for a dynamic Field Sales Manager to oversee and grow their assigned territory and team. Field Sales Managers are responsible for training, managing, and recruiting our residential canvassing teams in the field, as well as meeting and exceeding their own sales. We value strong communicators for this role who have a track record in setting appointments with high conversion rates, as well as managing successful sales teams. We will provide the necessary structure, training, and tools to ensure success in this position. Field Sales Managers will work directly with Neighborhood Sun’s Regional and Executive leadership to strategize and hit key performance goals. Support will be provided to assist our Field Sales Managers to train, motivate, and manage their Clean Energy Advisor Team in their market.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and set the standard for your team.
  • Actively support, train and maintain the performance of the Clean Energy Advisors.
  • Coordinate with your Regional Director of Sales with scheduling and performance goals for you and your team.
  • Help recruit, interview, and hire new Clean Energy Advisors.
  • Train new Clean Energy Advisors on all software platforms, sales processes and new hire orientation.
  • Ensure goals are clearly communicated and attained weekly, monthly, and quarterly for you and your Clean Energy Advisors.
  • Conduct in-person team meetings focused on motivating, training and sales performance with your team.
  • Help develop your Clean Energy Advisors into future leadership positions.
  • Manage canvassing activities and project mapping. 
  • Assist in creating a great culture with a winning and competitive attitude.
  • Find and attend area events with your team.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Outside Sales or door to door experience.
  • Experience in managing and leading a door to door team.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms.
  • Ability to build rapport with colleagues and customers.
  • Self motivated and goal oriented personality. 


Expectations and Critical Skill Sets:

  • Proven track record of managing successful neighborhood canvassing teams.
  • Strong leader, self-motivated, competitive, problem solver, and competent in overcoming objections.
  • Must be outcome-oriented. Previous sales experience of meeting or exceeding targets and providing excellent customer service will be key indicators of success.
  • 80% local travel daily. Operate in the field within your assigned sales area.
  • Must be able to run team meetings and inspire others.
  • Strong communicator with excellent language and computer skills. Able to write routine correspondence, understand, and interpret documents.
  • Able to handle mature conversations with customers and employees in a respectful format, including C-Level Executives.
  • Must have access to a vehicle and smartphone or tablet at all times.

Job Type: Full-time


Overall Compensation Target: $100,000-$120,000 per year includes base salary, commissions, and overrides


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Some Weekends


Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)


Experience:

  • Sales Experience: 3+ years (Preferred)
  • Management: 2 year (Preferred)
