AMP Robotics is hiring a Software Engineering Manager - Robotics reporting to the Director of Software to oversee the building of AMP's core technology. As the manager of the Robot Software group, this position will support the development of AMP's robotics software platform which drives more than 200 active systems around the world. 

The robot software group is highly-collaborative and powered by passion for recycling, SW development, and changing the world. 

As the Robot Software Manager, you will work to:

  • Orchestrate cross-functional software releases for deployment to hundreds of robotics systems across the globe
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate the development of features that increase the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of recycling sorting systems
  • Foster positive software culture that promotes trust, transparency, and sustainability
  • Mentor our growing software teams and help us invest in our people
  • Drive vision for the long term architecture and goals of our robot software platform
  • Reshape the fundamental economics of recycling by increasing the performance of robotic sorting systems.
  • Deliver the core technology which power's all of AMP's products.

We are seeking an individual with a strong track record of leading teams that ship production software.

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years experience leading effective software teams  

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years leading software teams with team sizes of 10+
  • Robotics / Embedded Systems:
    • Remote deployments, telemetry / metrics, containerization
    • Managing cross-functional projects across broad domains: engineering, sales, product, etc. 
    • Algorithms, neural networks, or data processing familiarity
    • Managing the full lifecycle of products from early stage R&D/prototyping to shipping production level systems in real-world applications
    • Driving and leading team in overall Architecture and system design decisions to support business needs 
  • Management / Leadership:
    • Hiring, onboarding, coaching and mentoring effective developers and tech leads
    • Building effective, positive and collaborative culture within team and within organization
    • Aligning team goals and work with product and business needs
    • Working in a startup environment with minimal structure
  • Startup Ready:
    • Building organization in dynamic and evolving environments
    • Balancing structure with flexibility as requirements change
    • Critical thinker who can take ownership of system requirements
    • Lifelong learner with ability to develop proficiency in a breadth of technologies

Remote or Hybrid: 

  • Full-remote with regular travel to AMP's Louisville CO HQ or
  • Hybrid or full time in-office at AMP's Louisville CO HQ

Travel Requirements: 

  • Up to 20% travel time for management responsibilities and access to hardware systems.

Salary & Compensation information: $145,000 to $175,000 depending on experience.

Benefits information:

  • Medical - The company covers up 85% to 100% of the premium for Cigna healthcare plans depending on the selection. Employees pay the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan. Up to 75% for dependents.
