This role will have a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping compensation programs during a stage of critical growth at Aurora Solar. Reporting to our VP, People, you will be a key member of the People Leadership team. As the owner of our global compensation program, you’ll develop and manage programs that attract and retain top talent.

What you’ll do:

  • Own and drive our global compensation programs' continual development and evolution, including base pay, variable/incentive pay, equity, and executive compensation
  • Manage the annual employee compensation planning activities, including salary increase review cycle, promotions, and market adjustments
  • Regularly benchmark company programs and monitor external trends in order to proactively adjust company plans and programs to ensure market competitiveness
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and training strategies to drive employee awareness and understanding of compensation programs
  • Identify opportunities and execute practices to build further employee transparency and management empowerment into our compensation programs
  • Consult with executives, HRBPs, and our Talent Acquisition team on business strategies and compensation needs. Develop solutions aligned with strategic objectives which can be repeated and leveraged broadly
  • Support the development and roll-out of internal compensation tools and systems
  • Partner with the VP, of People and VP, of Finance to evolve the Compensation Committee process
  • Provide direction, coaching, and development opportunities for Compensation team members

What we value:

  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience in compensation
  • Experience managing global compensation programs in competitive talent environments
  • Experience with effectively scaling a company-wide compensation function to support business goals and growth, with a strong awareness of best practices
  • Exceptional communication instincts & practices that keep stakeholders informed and included in a way that builds trust
  • Venture-backed or pre-IPO equity plan experience
  • Sales compensation experience
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, statistical, and conceptual skills; Excel expertise is required
  • Experience with Workday is preferred
  • Experience working with executives, Boards of Directors, and a Compensation Committee is preferred 


At Aurora Solar, we tie our base pay ranges to level and location. In the United States, this means that your base pay ranges will fall into one of three geographic pay zones depending on your location. 

In most cases, we target the midpoint of our salary ranges for new hire compensation. This placement is reflective of full proficiency in a role. Base pay is ultimately determined based on a number of factors including skills, qualifications, and location. This role is eligible for additional variable compensation and an equity grant, which will be discussed in your initial recruiter conversation. 

Our current base pay ranges in each zone are:

- Tier 1 San Francisco, New York City: $204,000.00 - $276,000.00
- Tier 2 Seattle, Los Angeles, Washington DC: $187,000.00 - $253,000.00
- Tier 3 All Other US Locations, including Colorado: $170,000.00 - $230,000.00
