The Commercial Operations team is responsible for safely running world-class operations for Cruise's fleets of autonomous vehicles. Our cross-functional team is composed of operators, engineers, business analysts, program managers, and safety leaders across multiple cities. From driving operating cost savings before our vehicles even hit the factory, to managing the complexities of daily AV operations in order to delight our customers - and everything in between -the Commercial Operations Organization oversees all operations needed to execute our technical and business objectives. About the Role 

We are looking for a Commercial Product Operations - Systems Manager to lead the Commercial Product Ops Systems team and work cross-functionally to support the development, design and implementation of our commercial operations systems strategy. This is a leadership and highly cross-functional role responsible for the delivery of our commercial systems roadmap. 

You will lead a high impact team and leverage your team management, product operations/management, consulting and/or rideshare experience to deliver high-impact systems and capabilities to support Cruise with its scaling objectives.

What You Will be Doing:

  • Manage a team of Product Operations Managers and shape the scope and vision for the team

  • Develop and maintain a source of truth for business requirements & commercial operations systems roadmap, based on business needs and our company’s strategic vision.

  • Work cross-functionally (Ops, IT, Product and Engineering teams) to prioritize and deliver solutions in line with company objectives

  • Constantly evaluate operational shortcomings that can be improved with product

  • Work with engineering and product teams to develop and maintain operational tooling

  • Sign-off product launches, beta releases, and patches for several large and geographically dispersed operating teams

  • Manage bug and critical issue triage processes, including individual prioritization and coordination with engineering and product teams for scheduling fixes

  • Own product metrics and operating dashboards

  • Use data & analysis to monitor, track, and evaluate KPIs for different teams across different tools; proactively propose and champion process, tooling, or documentation / training improvements

  • Build close relationships with multiple engineering teams responsible for delivering products for the different operating teams you support

  • Work with a large workforce and third-party vendors on both day-to-day operations and high-level planning and improvements

  • Set expectations for project timing with stakeholder interest at play

  • Drive miscellaneous projects as needed

  • Strategize on short and long-term department goals, including utilization targets and resource needs

  • Role will be located in Phoenix and will require occasional travel

What You Must Have:

  • 3-5 years managerial experience in an area focused on operational processes, operations management, product management, product operations and/or consulting

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities

  • Understanding of product release cycles and delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc)

  • Willingness to spend up to 10% of time traveling to other locations

  • Experience working on large scale in-house tooling used by human operators and(or) experience implementing enterprise software applications

  • Ability to use quantitative and qualitative feedback to form insights that drive actions

  • Ability to remain flexible and thrive in ambiguity

  • Ability to identify and act on tool and process improvements to enhance efficiency

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate efficiently across teams

  • Data analysis experience with a basic understanding of relational databases

  • Excitement for autonomous vehicle technology, and a desire to make it a reality
