Job Description

About Us

We want to raise the standard of doing business.

Knowing the truth about the stuff we buy shouldn’t be such a novel concept. When we know more, we choose better and those choices add up. Right now, too many big brands and businesses hide behind vague or false sustainability claims. That leaves us, you, and everyone else confused and making decisions in the dark.

You deserve clear, trustworthy, and actionable information to inform where your money goes.

And, it should be so simple to find alternatives to mass/fast fashion that people can’t help but shop sustainably. We build our browser extension to find sustainable styles based on what you’re already shopping for.

United by Zero evaluates products across hundreds of data points representing seven critical categories of sustainability: chemical use, water use, supply chain transparency, circularity, humanity, animal welfare, and C02 and energy use. The result: the Z-Score.

The Z-Score was created to bring transparency to commerce so we can align our values with our choices.

United By Zero encourages you to support brands that align with your values. Buy products built to last. Then recycle the hell out of them.

About you

You believe that climate change is an existential threat and that consumer-driven solutions will play a significant role in changing consumption habits, product standards, and sustainability thresholds. You have an appetite for working within guidelines but thrive when autonomously prioritizing your daily efforts. This role is goal oriented: you’ll work directly with the marketing team to structure strategic outcomes but will be expected to devise tactical solutions independently. You love exploring new ideas, testing quickly, learning quicker, keeping what works, and letting go of the rest.

Job Function and Focus:

  • Create original graphic content for media platforms.
  • Develop ecstatic pieces for Instagram (stories & feed posts).
  • Present and contribute original ideas.
  • Ensure overall consistency of brand look and feel.
  • Skilled at delivering basic editing of graphics to create engaging content.
  • Perform all other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Have access to your own computer.
  • Knowledgeable in graphic design.
  • Eager to learn about & explore the fashion industry & sustainability topics.
  • Desire to help the planet & promote sustainability

This role is a part-time opportunity that will be remote for its entire duration.

  • Anticipated Start Date: September 5, 2022
  • Duration: 15 weeks
  • Hours: 10-15 hours/week
  • Location: Remote
