The Electrical Test Technician will be a part of the technology team, reporting to the Systems Engineering Manager. This individual will collaborate with other tech team members to help debug and diagnose units returned from the field and support testing of new hardware developed by Project Canary. This work will include but is not limited to electrical schematic review, PCB troubleshooting and repair, test stand management, and test development.

The role will require superior people skills, collaboration, problem-solving abilities, and a focus on hardware operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronic troubleshooting, PCB repair, test harnesses, and system testing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Testing hardware components individually and in tandem with external teams and remote prototypes
  • Completing functionality and performance tests on products in development
  • Collaborating with Firmware and Software developers for product development and test
  • Collaborating with Firmware, Software, and Electronics developers to design test cases and test systems as needed
  • Act as Lab Manager by creating, following, and enforcing a calibration schedule for lab equipment

Requirements

  • Requires an electronics/electrical technology degree and at least five years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Understands hazards of and can work safely when working with battery systems
  • Work well as a team player.
  • Analytical thinking with good problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair PCBAs to the component level.
  • Skilled at soldering fine pitch components (20 mil), resistor, and capacitors down to 0402 in size.
  • Ability to design and build wire harnesses.
  • Experience with test development and automated test systems
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Systems
