Project Canary PBC is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Project Canary, you will join the Embedded Systems Team and focus on the design and development of our next generation of field devices. This includes everything from enclosures, internal mounting, and screw choices to material analysis and prototyping mechanical solutions for unexpected problems. You will design for the quality and manufacturability of these solutions playing an integral part in bringing our devices from the lab to the field.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prototype and Develop Weatherized solutions for field deployment of monitoring stations
  • Support the test and manufacturing of mechanical solutions
  • Writing manufacturing procedures, creating technical drawings to be included in these procedures
  • Analyze field failures related to mechanical design and perform root cause analysis of these failures
  • Work collaboratively with the electrical, firmware, software, and quality engineers to optimize designs
  • Documenting existing and future designs

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient knowledge of SolidWorks (highly preferred) or equivalent CAD package
  • Ability to identify and root-cause system-level defects.
  • Experience with Thermal Management, Vibration Capability, Thermal Shock, and Tolerance Stack
