Job Description

Job title: Analytics Manager

Location: Bristol, London (Including Hybrid)

Salary: £64,000 - £101,000

Kaluza wants to power a world where net-zero is within everyone’s reach, by building the platform that will accelerate a sustainable, affordable and resilient energy transition. It’s a huge challenge, but often the toughest problems are the most rewarding to solve.

Since launching in 2019, Kaluza’s technology has been empowering some of the biggest energy suppliers to better serve millions of customers.

From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

You will be joining the Kaluza Data Analytics community. Data is the foundation of everything we do as an organization, and to deliver our vision we need curious, tenacious people who can turn this data, and their knowledge, into insight, strategy and actions.

You’ll primarily be working on the Kaluza Retail platform called ‘Orion’. This is a technology platform that aims to revolutionise the operating platforms for energy retailers globally. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind and is the foundation for decarbonisation efforts by Kaluza’s customers. We are looking to transform to a multi-tenant, international ready model to help the business take on new challenges and external customers.

What will I be doing?

As an analytics manager, you will be responsible for line managing multiple data analysts embedded throughout Kaluza, either in product or business functions. You will assist your team in the scoping, planning and delivery of analytics projects, assuming accountability for their execution, and flexing your time as you see necessary. You will introduce thought-leadership on how to deliver excellent analytics to the wider practice and contribute to cultivating a positive analyst community.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform line management duties for a team of analysts embedded across multiple domains with a range of seniority.
  • Help to prioritise work based on business impact and urgency, managing stakeholders where tough decisions are required.
  • Scope and oversee data analytics projects for the product areas which your team work in, identifying opportunities and challenges which benefit from a data-led approach. Provide technical support on these projects where it’s needed.
  • Align with analytics leads from across the Group to establish a consistent approach to development and introduce best practice and analytical rigour to the analyst community.
  • Mentor and coach analysts, encouraging them to question requirements and understand the value of the work they deliver.
  • Play an active and constructive role in making the analytics team a great place to work for everyone.

Is this the job for me?

It could be if some of these apply:

  • You are a dedicated leader who enables collective success and have experience in leading a team of 2+ data analysts.

  • You are passionate about developing others and helping people become the best version of themselves through coaching and feedback.
  • You are able to draw on your significant experience (5+ years) in analytical and statistical roles (inclusive of manager experience roles) to deliver high quality, actionable data analytics and insights.
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills and are able to articulate results clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders using both technical and non-technical language to fit your audience.

  • You have experience in delivering insights and analysis across different business functions, e.g. product, finance, strategy, etc.

  • You are likely to be degree educated in a numeric, scientific or engineering discipline.

  • You have experience working with a modern analytics stack, for example:
    • SQL
    • Programming language (e.g. python)
    • BI tooling (e.g. Tableau)
    • GitHub
    • Data orchestration tooling
    • Cloud services
  • You have both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in using advanced analytical techniques.
  • You are curious and open-minded with a voracious appetite to learn.
