Job title: Risk Manager (Technology)

Location: London, Edinburgh or Bristol (including hybrid)

80% part time considered

Salary: £50,000 - £68,000

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working?

RISK AND COMPLIANCE

You’ll be joining the Kaluza Risk and Compliance community - a 2nd line team of technical leaders and experts focused on managing the risk and compliance landscape in a futuristic manner that propels Kaluza toward  its aim of providing high quality services to customers while revolutionising and decarbonising the energy grid. We design disruptive and innovative risk and compliance strategies that allows Kaluza to succeed while maintaining regulatory compliance and expertly managing operational, technology and business-related risks. 

What will I be doing?

The Risk Manager will be responsible for supporting effective risk management, monitoring, reporting and compliance on all risks at Kaluza. This will include operational and business risks, the risks surrounding the Kaluza Retail and Kaluza Flex platforms as well as all other technology solutions that are used internally or developed for customers. Driving a risk awareness culture that is able to exploit opportunities and promote a balanced risk approach to processes, architectures, applications, and platforms is core to the success of this role.

You will be responsible for assisting with:

  • Planning, designing and completing the Risk Strategy and process
  • Establishing and quantifying the organisation's 'risk appetite', i.e. the level of risk they are prepared to accept
  • Providing a balanced, lean and efficient view on risk and compliance in relation to commercial objectives 
  • Assessing, analysing and evaluating risks as well as the related impact to the business
  • Partnering with key stakeholders across the business to guide them with governance, regulatory, compliance advice and control implementation (in line with policy) advice 
  • Conducting 2nd line reviews of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors where necessary 
  • Performing regular Exco and Board reporting on the risks with a view of KRI’s and/or KPI’s 
  • Undertaking corporate governance involving external risk reporting to stakeholders where required e.g. support for SOC2 reports
  • Horizon scanning and up-to-date regulatory awareness to inform management of potential changes, threats and opportunities
  • Engaging with customer Regulatory and Risk teams to support management in understanding requirements and translating it back to the technology platform(s)
  • Providing support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organisation

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you may have/be:

  • High awareness of risk management, including developing governance, consistent processes and a thriving risk culture in the organisation
  • Experience in Audit, Assurance, Compliance or Risk Management 
  • Strong stakeholder management, documentation and presentation skills
  • The ability to grasp and articulate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to manage complex detail without losing sight of the big picture
  • At least one risk, audit, or governance certification e.g. CISA, CISSP, CRISK, CGEIT or equivalent 
  • Knowledge of relevant Frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 and others, COBIT, NIST etc)
  • Technical/Infrastructure knowledge i.e. detailed knowledge of some of the following:
    • SaaS Platforms 
    • Applications (CRM, HR)
    • Operating Systems (LINUX, Windows)
    • IT Networks, Firewalls, VPNs
    • Apache Kafka 
    • Cloud Security
