Job title: Tech Lead - Agent Platform
Location: London or Bristol (Hybrid remote working)
Salary: £76,000-127,500

  • Squad: Kaluza Agent Platform
  • Primary technology choices: Full-stack consisting of React, NodeJS, TypeScript, DB technologies depending on the use case, Kafka and AWS.

You would be working to grow the existing Kaluza platform, which supports our UK energy supply business. This platform has been built with scale and technical quality in mind, as the first real-time energy system created using functional programming and event sourcing. We are looking to transform to a multi-tenant, international ready model to help the business take on new challenges and external customers.

Where in the role of Kaluza will I be working?

You would be joining the Agent Platform area of Kaluza. Your mission is to create an exceptional experience for our client’s operation teams whilst striving to provide innovative solutions that reduce the amount of manual work.  This is pivotal to Kaluza's strategy of providing the lowest cost to serve platform in the global energy market. 

You will be continually pushing the boundaries of the energy industry and technology in enabling energy retailers to provide award-winning customer service. 

We are a group of 5 product teams of both data-led and product focused Software Engineers and Production Engineers. Technology choices within the Agent Platform center on but not limited to React, NodeJS, TypeScript, various DB technologies, Kafka and AWS. Experience of working closely with Data Scientists  to deliver AI solutions would be advantageous.

Here’s some examples of the type of thing you may work on in the Agent Platform:

  • Taking a user-centered approach to build complex user-journeys
  • Working with large, complex datasets to ensure our users have the right data at the right time available to them
  • Building out our customisation solution so clients can tailor the solution to their needs
  • Implementing AI solutions to improve operational performance for our clients

You will be working within a team of other senior leaders responsible for designing and evolving the architecture for this platform. This work will include building proof of concepts, delivering code into production, whiteboarding or collaborating with other teams and engineers to achieve needed steps. You will work alongside a leadership team including product, delivery and design to achieve the overall goal.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of the Kaluza Agent platform into international markets
  • Enabling a multi-tenant solution across groups of teams
  • Collaborating and working with our teams to create innovative solutions to meet our users needs
  • Contributing to platform-wide decisions in terms of our platform boundaries, partnership options and architecture
  • Being a part of the Kaluza-wide technology leadership team

Our tech stack is different in different parts of the platform: Scala, Go, TypeScript and React are very common. We’re cloud native and use Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka and Terraform. We run our services in GCP and AWS.
