Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? 

You’ll be leading the Sales function for all regions and products, enabling Kaluza to break new ground and lead in the global market. 

In this role you’ll be working across both Kaluza platforms: Retail Energy Platform & Flex.  Our platforms are shaping the future: A distributed, consumer-centric, dynamic energy system that will be the nervous system connecting energy retailers, grid / network operators and consumers to provide clean, affordable energy for everyone. We are creating the tools to help consumers unlock the full benefits of renewable energy by enabling a seamless connection between the customer and the grid.

With 2 million live metre points already on our Energy Retail Platform, our mission to accelerate an affordable and resilient energy transition is well underway. 



What will I be doing?

You will build and lead a high performing business development team and lead our global business development activities. You would be primarily responsible for driving recurring revenue growth across the Kaluza product suite, run business development operations, embedding a data driven business development process, and track and manage the business development funnel to ensure that resources are focused most efficiently.  

You will be supported by the wider commercial team of marketing and policy experts, solutions architects, partnership managers and in-life client executives.  Together, you will be expected to build client relationships from an early stage, identify their needs and design solutions using the product suite.  Our solutions are highly complex, and some opportunities can be north of several million pounds/dollars.

As VP Business Development you will also play a key role in our commercial strategy, helping to identify new business opportunities, inform our product development roadmap and business planning. As the organisation matures and scales, this exciting role has a path to becoming the first CRO and member of the Kaluza C-Suite.

Some example activities include;

  • Build & lead an experienced and high performing business development team
  • Overseeing the business development pipeline and forecasting and reporting revenue growth for the senior management
  • Play a key role in the Kaluza commercial strategy
  • Advancing conversations with C-suite clients and closing significant deals which can be $10millions+
  • Coordinating tender responses
  • Implement robust business development & due diligence processes 
  • Delivering intro business development pitches to new clients
  • Contract and pricing negotiation
  • Renewals and upsells with Client Success team   
  • Liaise with key partners in our ecosystem when creating proposals for specific clients

Is this the role for me?

Ideally you’ll have/be

  • Significant experience in enterprise software business development, SaaS, consulting, relevant industry or start-up environment
  • Experience within the energy industry and knowledge of this market would be highly desirable
  • Comfortable spending time and creating meaningful relationships with Energy Service Providers’ executive teams.  
  • Experience building a business development team from the ground up is highly desirable
  • Know when and how to measure success. You don’t just use data, you know when to use what sort of data and the questions you need to help you answer.
  • Equally comfortable working with leaders and team members alike and engaging clients at C suite level
  • Comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing market needs
  • The ability to see long and short term, thinking tactically and strategically.
  • Comfortable travelling around the globe on a frequent basis. We are growing from Asia to America.
