Role DescriptionWe’re looking for a Sr. Engineering Technician to join our second shift Technical Operations team to support the maintenance of prototype manufacturing equipment. This team is responsible for executing Form Energy’s novel production processes, which support company wide product development efforts. This role will coordinate directly with our equipment engineering team and process engineering team to facilitate the integration of new equipment designs into production, as well as maximize operational uptime for existing equipment. A successful candidate can work independently, with limited instruction and can give design feedback and suggestions to engineers. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, as well as solid experience with electrical and mechanical fabrication.

What You'll Do:

  • Fix and maintain production or test related infrastructure and safety systems as specified by designs and schematics.
  • Troubleshoot materials processes and materials processing equipment.
  • Use shop tools to fabricate fixtures, tools, and other process improvements to increase operational equipment effectiveness.
  • Participate in design or hazard reviews and give design feedback to engineers.
  • Facilitate installation and assembly of new equipment.
  • Be a champion for safety in the development of new equipment and processes.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years experience in a hands-on mechanical role, ideally 2+ years in a startup environment.
  • Experience working with metals, ceramics, plumbing, and sheet metal.
  • Comfort working from assembly drawings.
  • Can do basic wiring and sensor installation from simple schematics.
  • Written and oral communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization.
  • Comfort using digital tools and organizational software. We use Asana, Google Apps, and a virtual lab notebook.
