Position: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Remote, United States

The Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist will play a critical role within the Accounts Payable team which is  responsible for processing the day-to-day purchase activities of the business. This role will support the Sr. AP Specialist under the direction of the Financial Operations Lead. The AP Specialist provides administrative and accounting support through their expertise in vendor management and application of GAAP concepts. Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for executing full cycle accounts payable in a high volume environment with 80+ invoices per day. 
  • Manage vendor record setup, code bills and purchase orders (POs) using multi-dimensional coding, and secure appropriate supporting documentation as per accounting policy.  
  • Audit employee expense reports in accordance with general ledger (GL) coding guidelines, approval matrices, and company policies. 
  • Administer AP policies and processes. Train, educate, and assist the organization with credit card use and expense submission process in Expensify. 
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors and employees. Respond timely to inquiries and drive issues to resolution. 
  • Prepare and input journal entries to record AP transactional activity in the general ledger. 
  • Reconcile credit card statements and obtain supporting documentation. 
  • Support accounting activities as needed and other ad hoc requests. 

Ideal Qualifications and Experience:

  • An associate's degree in business/accounting/finance or related field is required 
  • 2-5 years of previous work experience in AP role 
  • Experience with major ERPs required; preferably Netsuite 
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills 
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and exercise initiative to define and resolve problems  
  • Proficient knowledge of commonly used accounts payable concepts, practices, and procedures
