Job Summary

This role will focus on building solid, long-term relationships with cities and other public sector stakeholders in Portugal to allow Bird to open new markets and operate in the country at the best possible conditions for both Bird and Portuguese cities. Achieving these objectives will also require the Government Partnerships Manager to work across the organisation with various stakeholders to facilitate key initiatives, and drive internal alignment on a Government Partnership strategy for Portugal.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Bird at the local level, promote Bird’s brand and reputation 
  • Build, and/or strengthen relationships with the city officials of key Portuguese cities, as well as other key local stakeholders to maintain and grow Bird’s long-term operations
  • Develop Bird’s strategy to win or renew operating permits when their attribution is competitive (RfPs)
  • Collaborate cross functionally to ensure that Bird fulfills all obligations required by the cities and ensure that the company remains responsive to local concerns as they emerge
  • Secure local partnerships to enhance city relationships, advocate for shared mobility programs and winning applications
  • Build a close relationship with Bird’s local General Manager and local operations team to identify, evaluate and prioritize opportunities to improve policy 
  • Develop strategy and presentations in partnership with Operations, Policy and Marketing teams for meetings with city administrators and other stakeholders

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience. 
  • Great collaborator with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills including the ability to present to different audiences
  • Solid previous experience in managing projects from start to finish
  • Quick learner with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Enthusiasm for tech, mobility, or urban planning industries would be of added value
  • Outgoing and a relationship-builder who has experience in partnership and stakeholder management
  • Analytically and strategically skilled with an execution mindset
  • Available for travel
  • BA required. JD, MBA, MPA or equivalent preferred
  • Portuguese speaker
