Job Description

Revalue is looking for a talented, creative and experienced Cartographer.

This role will involve creating, developing, managing and advancing mapping and cartographic products (interactive maps, web-applications, and engaging and accurate spatial data visualizations) for the rapidly growing Revalue's global portfolio.

You will propose and deploy creative and dynamic visualizations to enhance Revalue's projects impact and insights, support decision making and improve visibility and transparency in line with our mission and communication strategy.

The Cartographer is responsible for assisting with all Cartography, mapping and spatial design. Working alongside the Data Intelligence team and portfolio teams, this role would be ideally based in Indonesia but other locations can also be considered.

What are the main responsibilities of the role?

Our Cartographer will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of high-quality cartographic products to support projects development, decision-making and communication strategies (internal & external).

You will work cross-functionally with the GIS and analytics teams as well as projects design, technical experts and projects leads to support consistent cartography, data standardization and the centralization of spatial data.

You will provide analytical and creative design insights and recommendations to all key functions and projects within Revalue, ultimately, making the portfolio and above all natural ecosystems intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly

  • Knowledge of spatial and statistical analytical methods and tools and experience working with QGIS, ArcGIS, ArcGIS online, and/or other GIS software/platforms.
  • Knowledge of sources and various methods of manual and digital extraction of spatial data.
  • Experience interpreting image analysis, complex spatial analysis, data modeling and landscape scenario analysis.
  • Ability to utilize basic to advance graphical representation techniques to clearly visualize data, user experience focused to develop and disseminate highly engaging and accurate contents.
  • Excellent graphic design and communication skills and proficiency in data visualization and design softwares and solutions: Adobe Creative Cloud, Illustrator, and/or D3 Viz, Blender,
  • Experience working with Tableau, PowerBi, D3 or other data analytics / data visualization software.
  • Experience in operating Google Earth Engine is highly desirable
  • Experience in 3D mapping is highly desirable
  • Familiar with CSS, HTML and Javascript programming languages, Python a plus
  • Evidence that you can work in remote teams, are self-driver with willingness to take initiative and committed to continuous improvement and consistent high-performance within a complex and fast-growing sector
  • Proven track record (3-5 years) in mapping, cartography, user experience and design and knowledge of web mapping.
  • An understanding of the voluntary carbon market (REDD+, ARR, ART Trees etc) is desirable
