Role DescriptionForm Energy seeks a Lab Operations Technician to enable our research and development efforts to continue to run safely and effectively. You will help with day-to-day lab housekeeping and organization, maintain lab equipment, help promote safety within the lab and support the Shipping team with stocking lab consumables. Reporting to the Lab Manager, you will apply your attention to detail and experience working in a lab environment towards our mission of decarbonizing the electric grid. 

What You'll Do:

  • Monitor and manage chemical storage locations, secondary containers and compressed gas cylinders 
  • Perform routine tasks to keep the lab space clean and safe: decontamination, waste management support, labware cleaning, weekly inspections
  • Assist team members with basic maintenance and troubleshooting on lab equipment such as pumps, vacuums, water filtration units, and portable exhaust units
  • Coordinate with external vendors to support installation and calibration of lab equipment and furnishings 
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing maintenance of lab processes and programs: chemical inventory, SDS document organization and logging new lab equipment

What You'll Bring:

  • Prior experience in a lab environment. Familiarity with compressed air, gas cylinders, lab equipment, or similar. 
  • Familiarity with chemical hygiene and safety best practices. Handling of hazardous waste a plus. 
  • Experience with Google Apps and the ability to learn cloud-based organizational tools
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work on step stools
  • Organized and detail-oriented; comfortable with repeated tasks
  • Proactive and able to work well independently within a fast-paced environment where schedules sometimes change
  • Associate’s Degree preferred, not required
